For average users, once the driver is on Windows Update then the SP1 install will work fine. The older versions work on SP1 when installed with the Sigmatel/IDT installer, they just don't reinstall properly as part of the SP install (sometimes, not always). The new versions handle the migration during the SP install properly. Most of the Sigmatel Audio driver issues with SP1 is simply that the driver may not work properly after an update from RTM and needs to be reisntalled.
